Outcome

Decide whether Sirens can preserve a durable, browser-viewable world snapshot and identify the smallest viable webapp slice.

The desired experience is a long-lived snapshot of an Eco world that can eventually be presented through eco-app.coilysiren.me, while being explicit about what is feasible, licensed, maintainable, and useful.

Scope

  • Compare the candidate preservation chain: Eco save, Unity scene/export, Blender/open format, and browser-renderable artifact.
  • Establish the legal and technical constraints around using Eco and mod assets outside the game.
  • Recommend one bounded first artifact, its storage/lifecycle requirements, and a practical browser presentation.
  • Specify the follow-up work as independently deliverable issues.

Acceptance

  • A short feasibility decision records the recommended approach and rejected alternatives.
  • The decision identifies asset ownership/licensing and runtime requirements that need validation.
  • A proposed first web experience has a defined input, output, success criterion, and storage bound.
  • Follow-up issues are filed only for work that remains justified after the study.

Non-goals

  • No extraction, reverse engineering, deployment, or large asset storage is performed in this issue.
  • This does not promise a fully interactive 3D replay.

Research plan

Lane Issue Purpose Sequence
Rights boundary #170 Determine what may be preserved or presented. Starts now; blocks any public artifact decision.
Input inventory #171 Characterize available read-only world-state inputs. Starts now.
Safe proof #172 Test a small browser snapshot using only already exposed data. Starts now; local/non-production only.
Synthesis This issue Select, defer, or stop based on the three evidence lanes. After #170–#172.

The first two studies and the asset-free proof are deliberately independent. No implementation, recurring capture, or public rollout issue should be created unless this parent records a justified pilot after their results.
