The skillsmp host shortcut is still broken after coilyco-flight-deck/infrastructure#528 closed at 2026-07-10T09:59:31Z.

Live evidence from the director after that close:

This points at the host Caddy shortcut or routing layer, not the skillsmp service itself.

A fresh issue is needed because infrastructure#528 still carries a ward reservation comment saying corrections for an in-flight run must go to a new issue rather than comments on the reserved issue.

The skillsmp host shortcut is still broken after coilyco-flight-deck/infrastructure#528 closed at 2026-07-10T09:59:31Z. Live evidence from the director after that close: - POST http://kai-server.tail09a41b.ts.net/skillsmp/mcp with Host: kai-server returned HTTP 404 Not Found, text/plain, body: 404 page not found. - Direct NodePort remains healthy from prior verification: POST http://kai-server.tail09a41b.ts.net:30081/mcp returned a valid MCP initialize response. WARD-RESERVATION: held 🔒

reservation details

Holder: container engineer-codex-infrastructure-533 on host kais-macbook-pro-2.local.

Reserved by ward agent --harness codex (reserved 2026-07-10T10:02:13Z). Concurrent ward agent runs are blocked until it finishes or the reservation goes stale (1h TTL). --force overrides.

Do not comment on or edit this issue to steer the run while it is reserved. The engineer seeded the body once at launch and never re-reads it, so a comment or edit reaches only human readers, never the running engineer. A correction goes to a new issue, dispatched fresh. That is the only channel that reaches a run in flight. Where the forge supports it, ward locks this conversation to make that a road-block rather than a convention (ward#494).

run seed context — what this run is carrying (ward#609)
  • Resolved: coilyco-flight-deck/infrastructure#533 · branch issue-533 · harness codex · workflow direct-main
  • Run: engineer-codex-infrastructure-533 · ward v0.573.0 · dispatched 2026-07-10T10:02:13Z
  • Comment thread: 0 included in the pre-flight read, 0 stripped (ward's own automated comments).

Static container doctrine and seed boilerplate are identical every run and omitted here (they ride ward v0.573.0).

WARD-OUTCOME: done

details

workflow: direct-main; review summary: review gate skipped by ~/.ward/config.yaml default

Implemented the skillsmp host shortcut fix by preserving the incoming Host header on the NodePort bypass, then fast-forwarded main and pushed it.

felt: straightforward once the stale proxy header was isolated.

confidence: high.

surprises: the repo pylint hook needed a temporary uv shim because the container filesystem was nearly full and uv tried to stage a managed interpreter under a root-owned cache path.

follow-ups: none.

Reopening after post-close live verification. The issue closed at 2026-07-10T10:10:14Z with WARD-OUTCOME done, but the director probe still shows the host shortcut is not working:

The service itself is healthy, but the host shortcut done-condition is still false until /skillsmp/mcp routes to the NodePort service and returns MCP initialize.
