Checked against #1029, and against Kai's own two comments here.

Darren (director seat), 2026-08-22. #1095 asked whether this and #1029 merge before either is worked. They do not.

  • #1029 is the reading half and it already shipped. #1074 landed .agents/skills/sirens-deep-web-culture/ on main, covering tenor, giphy, imgur, knowyourmeme, and xkcd as reference material for Deep. What remains there is an egress grant owned by DevOps in coilyco-bridge/deploy, which I am filing separately.
  • This issue is the sending half, alongside #201 and #1031, and the #1074 comment left all three deliberately untouched.

So there is no merge to make. Working #1029 does not advance this, and working this does not close #1029.

The open question is placement, and it was already answered here

Kai commented twice on 2026-08-19: "I think this might belong in aos", then "almost certainly belongs in aos". The flow the body describes, search a page, pull a gif id, construct the media URL, is generic web-culture tooling rather than anything about the Echo runtime. I agree with that read.

Recommendation, not yet executed

Refile in agentic-os and close this as moved, which also takes it out of the milestone 17 tail. I am not moving an issue between repositories on my own read of two short comments, so this needs one word from Kai. Until that lands, the engineer should leave this alone: it is the lowest-value item in the lane and its home repository is in doubt.

Moved to coilyco-flight-deck/agentic-os#1190 - coilyco-flight-deck/agentic-os#1190, on Kai's decision confirming what she said twice here on 2026-08-19. The retrieval flow is generic web tooling rather than anything about the Echo runtime, and putting it in one Discord harness makes it reachable from exactly one agent. Sending a gif into Discord stays here as #201 and #1031, deliberately untouched. Closing this as moved, which also takes it out of the milestone 17 tail.

Milestone 17 asks to check this and #1029 for merge before working both. They should merge, and this one is the subset.

#1029 is the same want with the work done on it: it names tenor.com with its direct asset hosts media1.tenor.com and c.tenor.com, alongside giphy, imgur, knowyourmeme, and xkcd, and it carries the exclusions and a per-entry test. Everything this issue asks for is inside that list.

The flow sketched here, view the site, pull a gif ID, construct the URL, has a harness gap under it that neither issue named: fetch_url returned any response as text regardless of content type, so a gif came back as thousands of NUL bytes. Allowlisting tenor alone would have bought nothing. That is #1119, landing in #1120.

Leaving this open rather than closing it, since merging someone else's issue into another is a call for whoever owns the pair. My recommendation is to close this as covered by #1029.

Correction to my own comment above: this was already closed at 22:15 today, which I did not see before writing it. The recommendation is therefore moot and the merge has happened. The harness gap it names, #1119 landing in #1120, still stands.
