Split out of #988, which listed these alongside two items that are now done or filed. They are the part no unit test reaches.

The coalescing lane landed in #975, the coverage line in #983, and coilyco-bridge/deploy#682 turned it on for deep and dowel at 21:54Z on 2026-08-18. Everything claimed about its Discord behaviour is still a unit test or an argument. #1122 and #1124 made the mark and hold paths testable, which is as far as a code session reaches.

What only a live guild answers

Each is first-run behaviour on a real member's comments:

  • A member's rapid comments actually fold into one turn rather than producing several.
  • The arrival mark appears on every comment, including the ones that fold.
  • The answered comment keeps its mark and the folded ones have theirs cleared.
  • A shed ask visibly flips from the arrival mark to the failure mark.
  • The reply lands on the newest comment rather than the oldest.
  • A restart mid-window leaves no comment marked and unanswered.

Why it is worth a live look rather than more tests

The lane's whole premise is that folding work does not fold the acknowledgement. A member who comments three times and sees one mark has been told something false, and that is visible in a guild in seconds and invisible to every test written so far.

sirens-dowel has produced no turns since 2026-08-19, so sirens-deep is the lane to watch.
