This is a deliberate end-to-end smoke test of the detached engineer launch path.

Add one brief, accurate, non-functional code comment somewhere under cmd/ward where it genuinely improves clarity. Do not change runtime behavior or public API. Run the smallest relevant validation, then commit, push, and land the change through the repository workflow.

Acceptance criteria:

Exactly one clarifying code comment is added.
No behavior or API changes.
The working tree is clean at handoff.
docs/FEATURES.md does not need an update because this is not feature-shaped.
