Summary: Fresh Bash and Zsh sessions now honor WARP_STARTUP_DIR while retaining the projects-root fallback. The smoke coverage verifies both paths and selects Git Bash explicitly on Windows. Shell and Warp documentation now describe the shared override. Validation: focused startup tests passed 2 of 2. The changed common.sh passed focused ShellCheck. All other pre-commit hooks passed. The Windows-only Forgejo Runner hook was skipped, and the unrelated all-files ShellCheck remains blocked by existing CRLF in tooling-image-zoom/scripts/crop-image. The full native Windows suite reported 535 passes and 27 unrelated platform failures. Closes #693.
