what I think I'm seeing it pre-build variants of the KDL files inside of .ward/*.kdl

there's probably a technical reason why they exist, but there's also a technical impl where none of these files need to exist

workflow: merge-remote-main; review summary: intentionally skipped — the in-container review gate was intentionally skipped because implementation and QA are role-separated; QA is a separate, opt-in exact-commit verification role bound to candidate commit 11248aff.

Landed 11248aff; promotion 2547 and release 2548 passed. Felt clean once live container payloads were separated from already-retired KDL bundles. Confidence: high. Surprise: concurrent typed-settings work required a merge resolution. Follow-ups: optional QA on the exact commit; installed Ward refresh was unavailable in this ephemeral container (no Homebrew/self-upgrade).
