Source: mobile session, concluding message (parsed into o2r tickets). Tagged smaller / easy to drop, but it pays twice.

The collector fan-out is the plumbing every integration sits behind:

  • One OTLP receiver, N exporters.
  • Keys to SSM.

While you are in there, add an exported-vs-accepted span counter per exporter, so a free-tier silent drop shows up instead of leaving a hole in the waterfall.

That counter is also benchmark candidate #5 — so the work pays twice.
