Problem - Context Kai is missing as a new homelabber. No action needed, this is a literacy issue.
Hypervisor: Proxmox is the de facto homelab hypervisor. The k3s setup sidesteps it, but it explains most homelab posts.
Hardware camps: mini PCs (Beelink, Minisforum) vs used enterprise gear. Plus ZFS for storage and a UPS so power blips do not corrupt things.
Reading surface:
Recommendation: skim selfh.st and awesome-selfhosted. No hardware action required.
Origin: homelab chat sweep, 2026-05-21.
Iceboxed in the 2026-05-29 backlog burn-down: homelab literacy, no action needed by author. Reopen anytime if it becomes real.
