Problem - Context Kai is missing as a new homelabber. No action needed, this is a literacy issue.

Hypervisor: Proxmox is the de facto homelab hypervisor. The k3s setup sidesteps it, but it explains most homelab posts.

Hardware camps: mini PCs (Beelink, Minisforum) vs used enterprise gear. Plus ZFS for storage and a UPS so power blips do not corrupt things.

Reading surface:

selfh.st - the de facto homelab newsletter and app-spotlight site.
awesome-selfhosted - the canonical catalog of self-hostable software.
r/selfhosted and r/homelab - r/selfhosted skews software, r/homelab skews hardware.
ServeTheHome - hardware deep dives.
